Our favorite distinction between uptown and downtown style was described in The New York Times as such: “Uptown style means having your collar starched, while downtown indulges in the wrinkles.” Two of our favorite bloggers, one with a clear downtown vibe, the other uptown, show how to style the versatile Moto skinny for whatever location your state of mind resides in.

Our downtown girl, Danielle from Indie Electronic Alternative, wore the Moto in Black Out with a swingy white tank, slouchy suede boots, a killer studded Alexander Wang bag, and a bright blue scarf for a pop of color.  She’s got the nonchalant, I-didn’t-even-try-to-look-this-hot swagger of the girls that live below 14th St.

Taking the Moto jean in a different direction altogether, our uptown girl, Taylor Davies from Eat Sleep Denim, paired the Moto in Antique Bronze with a leopard top layered underneath another button-down, a structured handbag, ballet flats and a sleek top-knot. Taylor’s look reflects the refined elegance of an uptown girl who’s outfit is always well thought-out and impeccably executed. (Did we mention her iPhone case matches her shirt?)

The obviously choice for the Moto jean may be to pair it with a biker jacket and boots, so we’re digging the creative ways these two style mavens werked it. We wanna know – which way would you rock the Moto?

Cheers to the freakin’ weekend, everyone! We’re totally pretending to work right now… Who’s with us? To get you in the mood for quitting time, we asked Daily Candy-approved chef and caterer Meg Hall of Made by Meg to stir up with a few cocktail recipes inspired by our colorful spring jeans. Go ahead, pick your poison.

Drink: Rosemary Scented Blood Orange Spritzer

Denim Inspiration: Playgirl in Coral

Rosemary Scented Blood Orange Spritzer

1/3 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

2-3 long sprigs of rosemary

4 cups fresh squeezed Blood Orange juice

3 oz vodka

2 oz Triple Sec

Make the rosemary syrup: In a small saucepan heat the sugar and water until the sugar has completely dissolved. Add the rosemary and simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

In a pitcher, mix the rosemary syrup with the Blood Orange juice, Vodka and Triple Sec.

Serve over ice with a rosemary “stirrer”.

Garnish with a Blood Orange peel (use a wide mouth vegetable peeler for a dramatic large peel!

Serves 4

Denim Inspiration: Twiggy in Peppermint

Minty Midori

1 cup fresh mint

2 limes, zested

2 oz Midori

Fill glasses with ice and zest limes over the glasses, dividing the pulp evenly. (The glasses will catch the essential oil of the lime!)  Add the Midori and vodka. Finish with Tonic Water and a Fresh Mint Leaf. Serves 4.

Denim Inspiration: Twiggy in Violet

Blueberry Bourbon Cooler

1 pint muddled blueberries

4 oz bourbon

1 bottle ginger beer

Much like the incredibly foxy and femme Penelope Cruz, there’s something uber-girly about our Penelope Scallop Hem Crop. The curvy hemline lends a ladylike feel to these skinnies that hug in all the right places, creating a vixenish vibe. The perfect jeans to rock on a first date, we suggest pairing them with a lace top in a neutral tone (like Penelope does above), sky-high heels and va-va-voom hair and makeup. Think smoky eyes, pouty lips and wavy hair with lots of volume…sexy Spanish accent optional.
