If you haven’t noticed, 90’s fashion is back in full force. We’ve already given you the scoop on denim jackets and crop tops - and now suspenders are popping up all over the place. But these are not your standard Larry King-style spendies. Favored by celebs and cool, downtown girls, 2013′s reimagined suspenders can lend an unexpected lift to your summertime wardrobe.
Wondering how to wear them? Well, start by leaving all other elements of menswear to the men actually sitting in boardrooms. Instead, elevate your look with edgy and/or girly accents like chunky, piled-on jewelry. (We’re obsessed with Diana Broussard‘s resin chain necklaces.) Try pairing Jojo in Iconic Blue with an acid wash tank that you’d never find on a college professor (at least we really hope you wouldn’t!). Keep a striped knit cardigan on hand for cooler nighttime temps. If you’re feeling the summer heat, swap the accessory over to Shorty in Iconic Blue. Keep it cas in a linen blouse and a pair of leather booties.
