Feeling the mid-week slump? We have just the liquid cure you need. Damian Windsor, mixologist at West Hollywood speakeasy The Roger Room, got inspired by our new men’s styles for Fall and whipped up a few cocktails that pair perfectly with our grooviest new offerings.

The Harvard: Pairs Well with Travis Corduroy in Cognac

Windsor’s Harvard cocktail is similar to a Manhattan, but is made with cognac rather than whiskey.

2 oz Cognac

1 oz sweet vermouth

2 dashes angostura bitters

Pour the liquid ingredients to a mixing glass and add ice. Stir and strain the mixture into a cocktail coupe glass. Garnish with an amarena cherry.

The Williamsburg: Pairs Well with Tom in Williamsburg

Windsor says Brooklynites go crazy for applejack, which is the base of this drink named after Tom in Williamsburg whose slim-leg style is the go-to cut for outer-borough scenesters.

1.5oz Lairds bonded applejack

0.5oz lemon juice

0.5oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur

0.5oz Pimento Dram liqueur

2oz unfiltered apple juice

Pour the liquid ingredients into a mixing tin and add ice. Shake and strain over fresh ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with sliced green apple and dust with fresh grated cinnamon.

Smoke on the Water: Pairs Well with Mick in Magnum

Vodka martinis are clean, efficiently full of booze, and très rock ‘n roll – just like the super-skinny Mick in Magnum.

2.5 oz potato vodka

1 barspoon Islay whisky

Grapefruit peel

Spanish queen olives

Pour the liquid ingredients to a mixing glass and add ice. Stir the mixture until it becomes cold and diluted, and strain into a coupe glass. Flame the grapefruit peel, and add it as a garnish with Spanish queen olives.

While these new men’s styles won’t be available for another couple months, the drinks are simple enough to make tonight. It’s only 2 hours from quitting time at James Jeans HQ in SoCal… I think we know what we’re doing tonight.

Special thanks to Damian Windsor for these killer concoctions.
